In commemoration of coming International Women’s Month and Awessories started Seed Good Deed ® initiative, with every product you purchase, Awessories will build a safe home for women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence, orphan girls, those who are refugees, newcomers, or are experiencing homelessness.

Purchasing Our Homes Would Mean:
- Avoid risk of being evicted.This would be extremely detrimental to our residents which would result in further trauma and homelessness. This also take away time and resources intended for our residents.
- Searching a house is not easier.Many house owners refuse to rent due to the liability of renting out to a transitional home. This automatic limits our choices and results in sacrificing on the location, the size and quality of the house, and the amenities within.
- Ability to customize the houseto our needs, including but not limited to making the houses physically accessible, setting up high standard security systems and changing the layout to better suit the needs of our residents as well as staff.
- We will become more sustainable. As owners, we expect our monthly expenses to decrease significantly, as landlords often increase their rent to accommodate us. Additionally, we will prefer central locations where we are safe, surrounded by family neighborhoods.

What is Safe Homes?
4 in 5 women and girl in India experience some form of abuse in an intimate condition. The government provided shelters are often overcrowded and sometimes even unsafe (recent eye opening incident of shelter home rape cases), as a result many women end up staying with their abuser out of desperation. Born out of this need, Awessories under Seed Good Deed.® initiative, safe home is the first and only transitional home (temporary shelter) for women and children in India. We will provide a safe place and assistance for at least three months as these women overcome trauma and homelessness and permanent safe place for orphan girls. Our goal is to support and empower women to regain the confidence, means, and ability to lead a successful, independent and self-sufficient life.
How do we help women and children?
We do this by providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental home along with the following services:
- Education (Educational programs, activities & support groups)
- Food and Shelter (Basic necessities including food, shelter and clothing)
- Cultural sensitivity
- Program and activities
- Casework (Case management to assist in securing employment, housing and independence
- Referals
- Mental health support (Mental health support & confidential counseling)
- Guidance and support (Holistic support with a focus on spiritual, psychological and emotional wellbeing)
- Financial assistance

Sales of Awessories products drive Giving through the Seed Good Deed® model. Every time a product is purchased, a person in need is helped.

The Awessories Giving Team collaborates with Giving Partners to plan how we can further the partners’ work, by giving or helping the partners to provide services.

Our Giving Partners provide Awessories services, supporting sustainable and responsible programs for communities in need.
As a nonprofit, building a brand is a lot hard work, and it requires resources. We’ve successfully launched the first collection of handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and shoes, but we need funding to build brand and market the products so that we can create a sustainable business!
